Abstract

This video demonstrates journey of acquired ambidexterity by an right handed ophthalmic surgeon. How to begin, improve, challenges,faced , learning curve and advantages of acquiring Ambidextrous ability.
Dr.Rakesh Gupta is blessed with twin daughters in 2012. One is right handed and other left handed. While playing with them, he developed the thought of being able to use both hands with good dexterity.
He started working on this and over 3 years his thought became reality. Now he can perform all steps of cataract surgery as right handed or left handed person with equal dexterity, and precision.
The purpose of this video is to motivate other surgeons to learn this ability, as this brings more confidence to surgeons in dealing with complicated cases and also add precision in outcomes.
