Abstract
Purpose: To study and conclude ONH parameters and peripapillary(pp) RNFL thickness using SDOCT in myopia.
Method: A total of 146 myopic eyes were grouped on the basis of spherical equivalent in low (≥-1 to -3 D), 49 in moderate (≥-3 to -6 D), and 41 in high (>-6 D). ONH parameters & pp RNFL thickness were analyzed by SDOCT.
Result: Mean average pp RNFL thickness varied significantly (p<0.0001) with 96.1±15µm, 82±14.4µm, and 76±11.7µm in the three groups respectively. RNFL thickness was significantly less in superior (p<0.001), nasal (p=0.02), and inferior (p<0.001) quadrants. Except for rim area (p=0.13), all ONH parameters-disc area (p=0.005), average C:D ratio (p<0.001), and vertical C:D ratio(p<0.01) were also significantly associated with the severity of myopia.
Conclusion: Average pp RNFL thickness and RNFL thickness in all quadrants except temporal were thinner & ONH parameters were larger except rim area.
