Abstract

In today’s era, Cataract surgery has become Refractive cataract surgery, where patient’s expectations are that of a glasses free vision after surgery. Hence it is important to address the issue of Corneal astigmatism along with cataract surgery. Toric IOLS have been in the market since more than a decade, however we see a lot of hesitancy among novice or even competent surgeons to offer Toric IOLs to their patients. This hesitancy arises out of fear in accuracy of calculations, lower confidence to execute the IOL placement or the IOL stability and lower understanding of various factors affecting the refractive outcomes with use of TORIC IOLS. This Instruction Course aims to IMPROVE the understanding of the use of TORIC IOLS in premium IOL cataract surgeries and help attending surgeons take back important tips to trouble shoot in difficult cases and scenarios.
