Method – 112 cases of POAG aged 30 -70yrs who were on anti-glaucoma medication(prostaglandin analogues) were taken up for the study. They were randomly divided into the exercise and control groups .IOP(AT) ,OCT ONH and Perimetry ,VA was done.
Results- : A statistically significant (P<0.05)decrease was found in IOP was found in 46% of exercise group mean change in IOP was 2±0.66mmHg.The change in IOP showed positive correlation with age (r>1)no gender predeliction. There was no change in OCT ONH and perimetry findings .No significant change in controls .
Conclusion – The significant decrease of IOP suggest that aerobic exercise is beneficial for patients with POAG which should be encouraged amongst them
