FP0081 : Evaluate the Role of Vitrectomy in Retinal Capillary Angioma

Abstract

Design: Interventional Case Series Purpose: To report four cases of Retinal Capillary Angioma (RCA) treated with vitrectomy (VIT) for various indications. Methods: Case 1: Multiple RCA with Retinal Detachment and Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy underwent VIT, RCA excision and Silicone Oil tamponade. Case 2: Solitary exophytic RCA with recurrent macular edema underwent VIT, Chorio-retinectomy and RCA excision. Case 3: Multiple RCA with Epi Retinal Membrane (ERM) underwent VIT, RCA excision and retinectomy. Case 4: Multiple RCA with ERM and exudative retinal detachment underwent VIT, RCA excision and membrane peeling. Results: All patients had favorable anatomical and functional outcomes. At final follow-up, retina was attached and vision had improved in all cases. No recurrences were observed. Conclusion: Vitrectomy may be a viable option for RCA patients who do not respond to conventional treatment.
