Abstract

9 year old female presented with a solid mass over R/E since birth, gradually increasing in size with age, occasional itching, foreign body sensation and watering. No history any associated malformations, systemic illness. Ocular examination showed a well circumscribed 7*5*2 mm^3 keratinised solid mass with cilia over it, at 7-9 o' clock position of limbal area encroaching the cornea. Mass was firm in consistency, non-tender, non-mobile. VA R/E was 6/12 (pinhole 6/9), L/E was 6/6, rest anterior segment within normal limits. Mass was excised under LA and HPE of the specimen showed collagenous tissue lined by stratified squamous epithelium, subepithelial tissue showed chronic inflammatory cells, along with few small blood vessels. Patient started on low dose steroids and lubricating agents. At 2 weeks postoperative day VA R/E was 6/9. Patient is free of symptoms and now under follow up.
