Abstract

Glaucoma filtration surgeries are associated with a list of complications especially when it is done in a pediatric eye where there is an anticipated panorama of challenges anatomically and surgically with greater potential for failure and complications. We are reporting a case of developmental glaucoma which was misdiagnosed as a refractive error for a year and presented to us in an advanced glaucomatous stage in both eyes (BE). Vision in the right eye was the perception of light and inaccurate projection of rays and in the left eye was 6/24, with intraocular pressure of 38 and 42mm Hg respectively. Bilateral sequential Trabeculectomy was performed, and the child developed decompression retinopathy in BE immediately post-operatively which was dense in one eye. We are also documenting its resolution phase with serial fundus photographs which went without intervention following a conservative approach.
