Abstract
Study design – prospective observational study
Purpose – To report a case of recalcitrant bilateral hereditary retinoblastoma to decide on globe salvage options
Methods – a 4 year old male child with a positive family history of retinoblastoma already having undergone Right eye enucleation was taken up in examination under anesthesia to see amenability to globe salvage options for left eye which was diagnosed as recalcitrant group D retinoblastoma. Child also underwent genetic analysis to determine RB1 gene deletion.
Results – 3rd cycle of intraarterial chemotherapy with a triple drug regimen has been planned.
Conclusion – intraarterial chemotherapy is a good option for recalcitrant cases for globe salvage
