Purpose
To study the eyelash roots of lid cancers in fresh specimens during frozen sections procedure and compared with the permanent sections.
Methods
Eyelashes were studied for tumour involvement during frozen sections procedure in an ocular pathology laboratory in a tertiary Institute in northeast India.

Results
 (n=8) Sebaceous cell carcinoma cases, (n=3) Squamous cell carcinoma cases, and (n=2) Basal cell carcinoma cases were studied extensively.
 Tumour invasion of the roots of the eyelashes was analyzed and documented.
 In this study, eyelash change was found to be significant for Sebaceous cell carcinoma followed by Squamous cell carcinoma. Near-normal changes were observed in Basal cell carcinoma.

Conclusion
Eyelashes roots involvement by cancer cells for Sebaceous cell carcinoma was maximum followed by Squamous cell carcinoma and Basal cell carcinoma.
