FP3121 : A CASE OF APLASTIC ANAEMIA WITH SUDDEN LOSS OF VISION – A CASE REPORT

Abstract

A 12 year old child presented with sudden loss of vision in right eye since 10 days. He was a known case of aplastic anemia on blood transfusion. Vision in Right eye was 3/60, VA in left eye -6/6, normal IOP and Extraocular movements full in both eyes. On examination, anterior segment was normal. Fundus examination showed boat shaped sub-hyaloid hemorrhage in macular region and vitreous hemorrhage in right eye, Roth spots in left eye. Nd Yag- hyaloidotomy was done which drained the blood inferiorly and immediately improved the vision to 6/9 within few hours and was started on anti-inflammatory drugs.
Conclusion: This is a case of aplastic anemia with multiple haemorrhages in various layers of retina.
