Abstract

A choroidal rupture is a break in the choroid, Bruch membrane and Retinal Pigment Epithelium (RPE). It occurs as a result of traumatic mechanical event directly at the site of contusion or more commonly away from the impact. Here, we present fundus case of 24 year old female who presented with diminution of vision and pain in left eye for past 10 days.On ocular examination, her best corrected visual acuity was 6/36 in left eye and 6/6 in right eye.She had history of trauma with door handle 10 days back. On dilated fundoscopic examination of left eye, Choroidal rupture with in macula with Subchoroidal haemorrhage was seen and was confirmed with USG B scan and OCT.She was started on oral and topical steroids. On follow up after 1 months, haemorrhage was resolved and her vision subsequently improved to 6/9.
