Abstract

A 43 aged female diagnosed with breast carcinoma ,metastasis, on treatment with leuprolide ,letrozole, zolidronic acid for metastatic bone disease presented with complaints of redness, insidious pain over a period of 2 years ,along with decrease in vision. She had received PST. Was diagnosed with bilateral chronic anterior uveitis and started on topical steroids –no improved activity was noted. Blood investigation, imaging were unremarkable. The long duration of presentation and multiple consultations appeared to muddy the history and presentation that one could attribute to drug induced. Anterior uveitis post zolidronic acid infusion has an acute presentation have been found to resolve in most cases with 4-6 weeks of topical steroids. On withholding the drug authors were surprised that there was improved activity, and the patient symptoms improved dramatically. We wish to report a case of patient receiving multiple doses zolidronic acid and its sequelae as experienced by our patient.
