Abstract
A study at King George's Medical University in Lucknow, India, aimed to measure Limbus-Insertion Distance (LID) using spectral domain anterior segment optical coherence tomography (SD ASOCT) and Axial Length (AL) in patients with comitant horizontal strabismus, comparing them with age-matched controls.
They included patients aged 6 or older with comitant horizontal strabismus. LID and AL were measured using SD ASOCT and A-scan, respectively. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference in LID of horizontal recti between strabismus cases and controls (P > 0.05). However, the LID/AL ratio differed significantly (P < 0.05) between the two groups.
In conclusion, the LID/AL ratio in comitant horizontal strabismus differs significantly from age-matched controls and is correlated with the type of strabismus.
