Abstract
PURPOSE:To surgically demonstrate modified Nishida’s procedure
STUDY DESIGN:In this study we are presenting case series of 6th cranial nerve palsy,3rd cranial nerve palsy and monocular elevation defect, who underwent modified Nishida’s procedure.
METHODS:3 Patients after pre operative squint elevation having
1st case , BE >45 degree esotropia post 6th cranial nerve palsy post trauma
2nd case, RE 15 degree hypotropia with mild exotropia since birth
3rd case, LE >15 exotropia due to 3rd cranial nerve palsy since birth
RESULTS:Post operative evaluation was done post surgery and the patients were followed up on 1st day ,1st month and 3rd month.
CONCLUSION:In Modified Nishida’s procedure the step of muscle splitting is omitted to prevent damage and to preserve the anatomy of the extra ocular muscles during the surgical manipulation. Therefore, it seems safe, because postoperative anterior segment ischemia is averted.
