Abstract

CASE REPORT-A 64 year old male patient presented with history of swelling in right upper eye lid since 8 years insidious in onset gradually progressive from pea to almond size, associated with discharge, matting of lashes, mild pain. On inspection single, irregular ulcerative growth measuring 2×2cm with ulcer 0.5×0.5cm having raised and beaded edges seen over the right upper eyelid. On palpation surface is nodular with firm in consistency extending upto palpebral conjunctiva. INTRAOPERATIVE-Tumor was excised by creating rectangular upper eyelid defect .Frozen section was sent to confirm tumor free margin. Defect was repaired by CUTLER–BEARD PROCEDURE. HISTOPATHOLOGY REPORT showed moderately differentiated meibomian gland carcinoma. Sebaceous gland carcinoma is highly malignant and potentially lethal tumour of the skin which occurs most commonly in the eyelid. Hence early detection ,prompt diagnosis and treatment of a potentially fatal disease is important.
