FP1579 : A CASE OF MODERATE CONGENITAL PTOSIS WITH MARCUS GUN JAW WINKING PHENOMENON

Abstract

CASE REPORT- A 18yr old male patient presented with dropping of left upper eye lid since birth which is non progressive, stationary and associated with jaw movements. No history of previous trauma.
ON EXAMINATION- Neurological examination was normal.The visual acuity of both eyes was6/6, pupil was reactive to light and normal extraocular movements in both eyes. In left eye Marginal reflex distance (MRD) 1is 1MM,MRD 2 is 7MM, MRD 3 (BEARDS method) is 1MM,Vertical fissure height is 2-3MM,LPS action (BERKS method) is 2MM(POOR) with REVERSE BELLS phenomenon and amount of ptosis improves with movement of jaw. Right eye was normal.
TREATMENT- Patient underwent LEVATOR DISINSERTION+FRONTALIS SLING surgery under general anaesthesia.
