FP1242 : A SIMPLE SIGN OF TERMINAL ILLNESS , A CASE REPORT OF ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA

Abstract

This is a case report of 32 years old male who came to ophthalmic opd with complaints of floaters in right eye since 20 days , on examination anterior segment findings were normal , visual acuity (unaided) 6/6 both eyes, on fundoscopy multiple deep and superficial pre retinal hemorrhages with macular sparing was noted , B scan was normal . On general physical examnation pallor with local raise of temperature was made out and patient was referred to physician regarding anemia and fever where blood parameters like CBP showed severe anemia with severe thrombocytopenia , peripheral smear showed normocytic normochromic RBC with anisocytosis , microcytes , tear drop cells positive , USG abdomen and pelvis showed mild hepatomegaly and moderate spleenomegaly . 2 D echo was normal .Patient underwent bone marrow aspiration and biopsy which revealed acute leukemia ,acute leukemia comprehensive panel flow cytometry was done and diagnosed as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (NRAS and PHF6) protein positive.
