Abstract

This is a case of a 23-year-old male who presented with defective vision and swelling on his left eye iris for 3 months. It gradually increased in size. In the same eye, he gives a history of penetrating trauma with a glass piece 10 years ago for which he underwent corneo scleral suturing. On examination, his best corrected visual acuity is 6/6 in both eyes. His anterior segment examination showed a limbal scar at 8 o'clock position, the anterior chamber is of variable depth with occasional cells and trace flare, and the iris shows a 5*5mm elevated lesion with depigmented patches from 5 to 10 o'clock encroaching three-fourth of the pupillary area. On further evaluation, the left eye's ultrasound biomicroscopy showed a large cystic lesion over the temporal iris. CT orbit showed no intraocular foreign body. Initially, the traumatic iris cyst was observed but later it was excised as it was obscuring the visual axis.
