Abstract

A 28 years old male underwent RE Implantable collamer lens ( ICL ) implantation for his refractive error of – 14 diopter with best corrected visual acuity of 20/20. He had normal anterior and posterior segment parameters. During ICL unfolding it was noticed that leading part of ICL was broken looking like coloboma in ICL. When injector system was observed, the broken piece was seen stucked to upper part of plunger. It could have been due to improper loading. But postoperative patient had unaided visual acuity of 20/20 without any other symptoms or signs. Hence such ICL need not be explanted
