Abstract
Aim- To evaluate the outcomes with OSSN treatment (medical and surgical) and to describe adverse events associated with treatment. Methods- Prospective, comparative, interventional study. 6 patients underwent an AS-OCT and histopathological examination. Management included 2 groups, 3 patients received topical Interferon alpha 2b therapy (1 million IU/ml) 4 times daily, whereas 3 patients with lesions less than 4 clock hours and less than 5mm were undergone surgical excision. The patients were followed up at 1st, 3rd, and 6th month. Results- A total of 6 patients mean age of presentation 50+/- 10 yr Complete resolution in 2 tumors following topical interferon alfa-2b treatment for period of 6 months ,1 tumor with partial resolution about 44%. Surgical removal of the tumor involved macroscopic free margin of 4 mm to ensure complete tumor resection was done 3 patients .Surgical excision in 2 patients lead to tumor recurrence due to presence of residual macroscopic disease.
