Abstract

A 50 years old male was referred to OPD for diabetic retinopathy screening He had no other ocular complaints k/c/o type 2 DM since 15 years on OHA He has undergone both eye cataract surgery 10 years ago Ocular examination revealed best corrected distant visual acuity was of 6/6 in both eyes .A detailed anterior segment evaluation was done and found to be un remarkable ,Fundus evaluation revealed peripapillary chorioretinal atrophy with bony spicules pigmentation extending to involve superior and inferior vascular arcade forming an annular pattern and sparring of fovea region with no disc pallor or vessel attenuation.
Spectral domain OCT suggestive of outer retinal atrophy in the parafoveal region with sparing of foveal anatomy.
Perimetry suggestive of generalized depression present in both eyes based on the above findings we come to a diagnosis of Bilateral posterior polar annular choroidal dystrophy
