Abstract
STUDY DESIGN: Case Series
PURPOSE: To report rare presentation of hypermetropia in patients with bilateral myopic fundus.
METHODS: A case series.
RESULT: We report 4 patients with bilateral myopic fundus changes associated with hypermetropia without any significant change in lens or cornea or any media haze.
CONCLUSION: Hypermetropia is a refractive error in which parallel rays of light are focused behind retina and can be due to changes in various ocular structures like cornea or lens or changes due to accommodation. On fundus examination in hypermetropia there is small disc and resembles papillitis (pseudopapillitis). On fundus examination of high myopia we get changes like peripapillary atrophy, temporal crescent, tesellation, CR atrophy, CNVM. In this case we got a picture of myopic fundus with objective and subjective refraction suggesting hypermetropia.
