Abstract
Study design: Case Study Purpose: To report a case with unilateral poor response to intravitreal Ranibizumab in bilateral AROP. Methods: A preterm baby with 28wks GA, 800g BW presented at 38 weeks PMA. He received bilateral Ranibizumab for AROP elsewhere. We observed zone 2 posterior AROP with advanced stage 3 areas and local traction in the left eye while the right eye showed stable zone 2 vascularization with no plus. A repeat intravitreal Ranibizumab injection was given in the left eye. Results: 1 week later significant disease regression was seen in left eye. He is following up for possible reactivation and need for rescue laser. Conclusion: Poor injection technique led to the inadequate drug delivery in the left eye with poor response and rapid disease progression. Early repeat injection was effective as a rescue treatment.
