Aim: To study a case of Sturge Weber Syndrome and it’s management
Abstract: A 35 year old male presented to the ophthalmology OPD with C/O DOV (LE) since 5 years and associated with redness.Vision in LE was 6/18. There is a port wain stain present over upper and lower eyelids. Slit lamp examination showed increased vascularity of conjunctiva. CDR of LE was 0.6 and IOP was 25.6mm Hg
Result: IOP was controlled with latanoprost e/d HS. IOP after 1 month was 17.3mmHg
Conclusion: Sturge Weber Syndrome should not be neglected because of its potential to cause ocular morbidity. As the patient had a port wine stain patch over the left upper and lower eyelid suggestive of Sturge Weber syndrome they are pre disposed for developing glaucoma. Close monitoring of such patients should be done by vision, IOP, perimetry and OCT to detect early glaucomatous changes and prevent vision loss and thus ocular morbidity. Surgery (trabeculectomy) is required in later stages for long term control of IOP
