Abstract

Study design: Prospective hospital based observational study
Purpose: To study the lens vault (LV) and its correlations in eyes with PACG.
Methods: Patients with PACG underwent digital biometric measurements with swept-source anterior segment OCT.
Results: 75 eyes of 43 patients with a mean age of 58.43±8.42 years were analyzed. The mean LV was 0.93±0.25 mm, and lens thickness (LT) was 4.83±0.33 mm. Bivariate analysis showed a significant correlation with IOP (p=0.002; r=0.347), LT (p<0.001; r= 0.583), and significant negative correlation with aqueous depth (AQD) (p<0.001; r=-0.549), and with angle opening distance at 500 µ (p<0.02) and trabecular iris space area at 500µ (p<0.02). Multivariate analysis with LV as a dependent variable significantly correlated with IOP (p=0.01) and AQD (p=0.002).
Conclusion: LV was significantly associated with IOP and AQD, and may be an important clinical biomarker of PACG.
