Abstract

Endoscopy is widely practiced in all of medicine, and it can be very useful in ocular diseases too. It has a diagnostic as well as a management component both in the anterior and the posterior segment. When combined with diode laser, it can be delivered to the ciliary body as well as to the retina. When cornea is hazy, it can also be used to guide surgery in both the segments. It is quite versatile, and various surgeries can be performed under endoscopic view, even phaco. But by far the most significant purpose of an endoscope is to prognosticate when corneal opacity is present precluding view of the optic disc and the posterior segment.
