FP0840 : Perceptual Learning Therapy Improves Vision & Contrast in Post-CXL & MF-IOLs: Pooled Analysis

Abstract

Purpose:To evaluate perceptual therapy in improving BCVA & contrast sensitivity(CSF) in stable crosslinked keratoconus & in MF-IOLs.
Methods: Pooled analysis of 2 RCTs. Post-CXL (AG), Post-MF-IOL (BG) were randomized in 2:1 ratio comprising 30 subjects in each arm. In each stratified group, 20 underwent therapy (AG-1, BG-1) & 10 acted as controls(AG-2,BG-2). Improvement in BCVA & CSF (3, 6, 12, 18 cpd) were analysed after 20 & 40 sessions.
Results: BCVA of AG1 were 68.20 (SD-8.108), 73.30 (SD-7.477) & 79.10 (SD8.466) at baseline, post20 & 40 sessions respectively. BCVA was 67.40(SD-7.09) in control (AG2) with no significant improvements. Among perceptual
groups in both strata, BCVA by repeated measure ANOVA was significant (p<0.0001). Likewise, CSF of perceptual groups against controls at 3,6,12, & 18 cpd was statistically significant.
Conclusion: With no alternate options available in treating amblyopia associated with post-CXL & MF-IOLs, Perceptual therapy improved both BCVA & CSF.
