Prospective study
Purpose- In this study we will evaluate the outcomes of toric implantable collamer lens (ICL) in the management of residual astigmatism in post keratoplasty pseudophakic eyes.
Methods- Patients with post keratoplasty residual astigmatism of -3.5 to -6 D were included. They underwent piggyback toric ICL implantation in that eye. UDVA ,UNVA, BCVA, contrast sensitivity, and Visual Function Index were evaluated at 1 day, 1 week,1 month,3 months and 6 months postoperatively. Intraocular pressure (IOP), vault height, graft endothelial cell count was measured on each visit.
Results- 15 eyes of 15 patients were included in the study. The mean preoperative spherical equivalent was -6.11 D (-4.75 to -8 D) improving to -0.80 D postoperatively (0.25 to -1.5 D). Mean UDVA was 6/12P and mean UNVA was N8 in toric ICL implanted eyes.
Conclusion- Toric ICLs were found to be safe and effective piggyback intraocular lenses (IOLs) in pseudophakic post keratoplasty eyes.
