Study Design- Case Report
A 13Y/M child presented with fever & cough for 5 days.
He was Started on antibiotics i.v.o. provisional diagnosis of pneumonia.
Later,Initiated on non-invasive ventilation in view of deteriorating condition (P.C. mode, PIP/PEEP – 13/7 mmHg, FIO – 25%) but shortly after, he complained of seeing a big dark spot in the right eye.
Bedside examination s/o V/A of FC1M with PR accurate in the right eye. Fundus examination of the right eye revealed a large pre-macular (OCT confirmed – sub-ILM) hemorrhage . Left eye fundus -normal.
Nd:YAG laser hyaloidotomy performed- drainage of sub-ILM blood into the vitreous.
3 weeks post-procedure, the child’s V/A(RE)- 20/80. The right eye fundus showed ILM detachment with residual fine sub-ILM bleed along its borders. Depigmented inferior VH (laser-drained)was also noted .OCT- foveal thinning with disruption of outer retinal layers & presence of small subretinal hyper-reflective material, likely to be subretinal blood.
