Abstract
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a heterogeneous syndrome defined by a rapid (over hours to days) decline in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Exudative retinal detachment occurs when fluid accumulates between the neurosensory retina and the retinal pigment epithelium. Ocular diseases or multisystem conditions such as nephrotic syndrome may lead to exudative retinal detachment. This case report describes a 32 years female patient who had a medical history of anemia, gestational diabetes melitus and chronic hypertension during her recent pregnancy. But it had been managed conservatively. The patient underwent total 9 cycles of haemodialysis. She presented to the ophthalmology department with complaints of decreased vision in both eyes on 3rd day of postpartum.
