Abstract
Abstract: A 23 years old female presented to our OPD with complaints of left upper eye lid swelling associated with itching, Pain,Watering since 1 week.Patient had taken initial treatment from local hospital and then referred to our hospital for further management. On Slit lamp biomicroscopic examination, upper eye lid edema with Tick attached to the lid margin. Anterior segment &fundus examination was within normal limits. Under topical anaesthesia, tick was removed completely with mouth parts. patient was treated with oral and topical antibiotics.
Conclusion: Ticks pose a significant public health risk due to their role as carriers of various infectious agents, leading to severe conditions like Lyme disease.They can cause localized skin reactions less commonly, tick paralysis. severity of illness rises with the duration of infestation, it is crucial to promptly and fully remove the tick, and patients should be educated about potential indicators of tick-borne diseases.
