Abstract
Alport Syndrome is a complex systemic disorder that interferes with collagen type IV synthesis and presents with varieties of ocular symptoms. This video depicts a unique case of Alport Syndrome with rare ocular features and successful management to it.
A 30-year-old female as a known case of diagnosed Alport Syndrome presented with a giant macular hole in OD. She underwent simultaneous cataract surgery along with correction of giant macular hole with retinal autologous transplantation in right eye. Intraoperatively Internal Limiting membrane was found to be absent. The full thickness macular hole was successfully closed with autologous retinal graft from the supero-nasal quadrant. On follow-up the graft was found in situ covering the defect till her last follow-up even after 5 months and her BCVA in OD improved to 20/40.
We hope this video will help in managing such conditions in future.
