Abstract

Every surgeon faces complications throughout their surgical career. The chances are more in the beginners stage, but are not completely eliminated even with years of experience. We learn from various courses,teachings,videos, conferences about how to manage a complication. But we never talk about how to manage the negative impact of complications on the surgeon's psyche. If the surgeon cannot handle this imapct on the psyche, it may lead to various issues like lack of confidence, guilt, avoiding doing surgeries, depression etc. If not remedied in time, there might be serious impact on career of an upcoming surgeon. In this video the author deliberates on the correct thought process to handle a complication.
