VT0440 : Intraocular lens (IOL) drop post phacoemulsification managed with scleral fixating CM T Flex IOL.

Abstract

AIM & OBJECTIVE:
There are many options in the management of aphakia post cataract surgery. The aim of this video is to explain the implantation of scleral fixating CM T Flex IOL.
METHOD:
A case of 56-year-old female came with a history of aphakia (IOL drop) post phacoemulsification managed with new foldable CM T FLEX scleral fixating IOL. Two partial-thickness limbal-based scleral flaps of 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm
were created 180° apart; sclerotomies were made using 23G needle 1.5 mm away from the limbus. Parsplana vitrectomy done and the dropped acrylic foldable IOL removed. The new acryfex T–flex IOL implantation
was done through sclero-corneal tunnel and T-shaped IOL haptics were externalized through the sclerostomy site on either side. Conjunctiva was opposed over the scleral flap and cauterized.
RESULTS:
Postoperative period was uneventful with a good stable centration of IOL.
