Abstract

Involutional entropion correction encompasses various surgical techniques, some of which include classical procedures like Quickert, Weiss and Jones procedure. This video showcases a simple modification of Jones procedure in which the lower lid retractors are dissected and reattached to the tarsus instead of plication. The retractors are attached to the anterior surface of the inferior border of tarsus using absorbable sutures in horizontal mattress fashion and skin closure is done. The preseptal override is prevented by the anterior lamellar scar created by the subciliary incision (2 to 3mm). This modification of Jones procedure restores the normal anatomic position of the lower lid retractors, less intraoperative bleed and hematoma due to minimal dissection, aesthetically favourable healing and lesser chances of over-correction and ectropion in the long term. Hereby concluding this modification to be considered as an excellent first choice for surgical correction of entropion.
