Abstract

Patient aged 39 , male, diabeticwho had history of decrease of vision few months had left eye advanced proliferative diabetic retinopathy post PRP extesive Fibrovascular proliferation all around arcades with Macular Tractional Detachment. Using 3D Sony Visualisation system with Luxor Alcon Microscope , 25 G vitectomy was performed using 20,000 cut rate cutter , segmentation and delamination was done, after staining with Brilliant blue ILM peeling done and silicone oil injected in end. Using better visualisation technology helps surgeon to perform better the surgical steps. Advantage of using using high cut rate vitrector was retina was less mobile during surgery , cutting could be performed near retina with less iatrogenic tears and FVP could be trimmed with more safety.
