Abstract
A 26 year old female with high myopia ( -8.50 DS in RE and -8.75DS in LE) underwent Implantable phakic contact lens (IPCL) in her left eye. Her best corrected visual acuity in both eyes was 20/20. Anterior segment analysis was normal with anterior chamber depth of 3.24 mm in both eyes. Surgery was uneventful. On post-operative day one, patient had visual acuity of counting fingers at one meter. There was anterior chamber reaction of 1+ with normal vault of IPCL. Sli lamp examination showed IPCL surface and stroma having multiple small crystalline granules. Patient was started on topical steroids, antibiotic eye drops and antiglaucoma medication. Unaided visual acuity improved to 20/80 on the second post-operative day and 20/32 on the fourth day. However the crystalline granules in IPCL were still present. Because of asymptomatic condion now, IPCL explant was not done.
