Novel MIGS Technique
B.A.N.G is the Bent Ab-interno Needle Goniectomy
Generally performed at the completion of cataract surgery
Useful in mild to moderate POAG
A low cost MIGS Technique
All that is needed – 25 G Needle, tip of Needle is bent at 90 degree
Patient's head is tilted 35 degree away from the surgeon and microscope is tilted 35 degree towards the surgeon.
Anterior chamber is filled with cohesive viscoelastic substance and under gonioscopic visualisation tip of 25 G Needle is introduced into the schlemm's canal. With gentle stroke nasal TM are excised for 3 to 4 o'clock hr. Blood in Schlemm's canal is suggestive of opening of the inner wall of Schlemm's canal. Anterior chamber is thoroughly washed. At the end, blanching of episcleral vessels is seen on nasal half suggestive of successful procedure.
