VT0029 : Bubble Trouble: Doing DSAEK in Difficult Situations

Abstract

Endothelial keratoplasty has evolved into a safe and effective way to treat corneal disorders affecting the inner layers of the cornea and is preferred to penetrating keratoplasty wherever it can be done safely. Though the results are gratifying, there are certain situations where endothelial keratoplasty can be challenging. This video demonstrates how to perform endothelial keratoplasty in challenging situations like post glaucoma filtering surgery eyes with corneal decompensation. We shall also demonstrate a case where a light pipe at the limbus was used to improve intraoperative visualization. DSAEK performed in a case with scarring post corneal graft infection shall also be elucidated. This video demonstrates how to safely perform endothelial keratoplasty in the challenging situations that have been elucidated above.
