Abstract
Purpose: To describe an unusual entrapment of air behind the retina followed by sudden rolling and flipping of the retina to the other side caused by undiagnosed marked intrinsic traction in a case of, ONE EYED, old pseudophakic retinal detachment ( PVR D2) surgery, leading to subretinal slippage of PFCL. Methods: During surgery of an old pseudophakic RRD, membranes around the disc and posterior pole were removed.PFCL was injected. ERM was peeled under PFCL. During FAX sudden air entrapment occurred in the extreme peripheral retina suggesting a strong intrinsic traction.180-degree RR was performed. Again while doing FAX to settle the detachment, suddenly the retina got rolling and ultimately flipped to the opposite side. PFCL slipped into subretinal space. The complications were managed and Retina was settled after performing 360-degree RR followed by direct PFCL Silicon oil (5000 cst) exchange. Results: Patient gained 6/60 BCVA after 3 weeks of follow-up. Financial Disclosure: None.
