VT0215 : THE PERPLEXED LOOP

Abstract

In this presentation, we will discuss the case of a patient with myopic strabismus fixus who underwent loop myopexy surgery. High myopia can be associated with restrictive strabismus where the globe is fixed in esotropic and hypotropic position. During the surgery, the patient experienced an intraoperative complication of scleral perforation, which was successfully repaired. The postoperative period was uneventful, with the patient only exhibiting vitreous hemorrhage and no retinal detachment. However, one month later, the patient developed retinal detachment, which required an uneventful retinal surgery. The postoperative outcome of the patient was good.
We provide an in-depth analysis of the case, discussing the surgical techniques employed and the overall clinical outcome. Visual aids such as diagrams, surgical videos, and patient fundus images will be utilized to effectively present the details and provide a comprehensive understanding of the case.
