VT0151 : SURGICAL TREATMENT OF ANOMALOUS HEAD POSTURES RESULTING FROM GAZE PALSIES DECODED

Abstract

The purpose of this video presentation is to show the cases of gaze palsies partially recovered/unrecovered/asymmetric recovery happened cases delt with different surgical modalities.
The conventional surgical treatment of compensatory head postures resulting from gaze palsies and subsequent gaze deviations are less discussed in the literature.
Treatment modalities for the AHP are supramaximal recession resections,Kestenbaum Anderson procedures or enhanced Kestenbaum Anderson procedures.Elderly children, adults and middle aged individulas suffer a lot from CHPs resulting from gaze palsies. In partially recovered cases patients do suffer from double vision and postural instability while walking.Since all these individuals have developed normal Binocular single vision.
In our case series we tried modified Nishida with MR recession in two cases and achieved orthotropia,In another two cases supramaximal recession resection was done and achieved orthotropia in primary gaze.
