Abstract
An 80 year old male presented with a dislocated black nucleus post a failed small incision cataract surgery (SICS) . We demonstrate a novel technique to carefully deliver the nucleus not amenable to a phacofragmatome through a modified approach using a simple needle puncture through the SICS wound after a complete vitrectomy . Complete removal of the black cataract was achieved and a secondary IOL was implanted .
Conclusions : A modified technique to successfully deliver a black cataract not amenable to a phacofragmatome without any complications to the ocular structures .
