Abstract
Ocular Trauma, often an ocular emergency can involve any part of the eye or its adnexa and needs meticulous evaluation and management to improve the long term visual prognosis. If not treated in a timely manner, the morbidity can be devastating. To start with, it is important to know about the updated classifications in use. Proper treatment protocols have to be followed to ensure that the best possible management can be instituted. As new surgical techniques have played a major role in defining outcomes, we should be fully aware of the recent trends and the need to refer to sub-specialities at the earliest for optimal outcomes. This course will deal with the varied manifestations of ocular trauma, current concepts and the do’s and dont’s that influence the final result. Experienced speakers will elaborate on relevant aspects of ocular trauma, the role of appropriate investigations and evidence based management. Panel discussion would also address the best practices in vogue.
