Abstract
with advancement in infrastructure and industrializaton incidence of ocular trauma is increasing significantly. ocular trauma may present as isolated or as part of polytrauma. During review of these cases it is found that prognosis in many cases can be improved if initial management at primary or secondary level has followed standard management protocol.
Stepwise management approach gives good outcome even in worst cases. Initial intervention at primary and secondary level as well approach to manage these cases of ocular trauma affects the final outcome.
Complex cases of ocular trauma like Canalicular injury, orbital trauma, Complex corneal perforation with lenticular injury and posterior segment trauma can be referred to a tertiary center after primary management.
In this instruction course , instructors will discuss how to approach these traumatic ocular cases for better outcome and when to avoid intervention and refer these cases to specialized center in complex cases.
