GP0131 : Rejuvenating It All : From Lid Margin To Cornea

Abstract

Dr. Shreya Thatte

The ocular surface extents from both lid margins including palpebral conjunctiva, fornices, limbal stem cells and cornea. Together they maintain a healthy ocular surface. Damage to these from various systemic or primary ocular diseases may lead to breakdown of ocular surface. This results in different ocular surface pathologies. Many times, these ocular surface disorders are refractory to medical treatment and need various surgical intervention to reconstruct ocular surface.
This course will highlight the accurate practice of numerous solutions in different situations like lid margin keratinization, symblepheron, ocular surface pathologies, acute lime burn, stem cell loss. These will be discussed in details with case scenario-based video explanation. Tips and tricks to overcome surgical difficulties and how to achieve targeted goal will be the main aim of this course. There will be interactive discussion on common difficulties faced while customizing diverse surgical techniques.
