FP0938 : Dealing with the Furrow-Management of Atypical Mooren's Ulcer

Abstract

Purpose: To report case management of atypical moorens ulcer
Study design: Interventional case report
Methods: 65 year old male had redness, pain in right eye since 3
months with episodes of remissions exacerbations, no history of
any systemic illness, BCVA 6/60. Anterior staphyloma is seen in
other eye
Results: crescentic shaped ulcer in the inferior peripheral cornea
with undermined central edge at the ulcer base 90 % thinning
with iris prolapse was noted. No evidence of scleritis.was seen.
Systemic Investigations were negative. Patient was started on
topical steroids lubricants, antibiotics, oral doxycycline, oral
steroids in tapering doses. Conjunctival resection and amniotic
membrane grafting was done. Scleral patch grafting was done
which showed melting after 2 weeks. Oral Cyclosporine and oral
steroids were administered post-operatively in conjunction with
Immunologist
Conclusion: Despite best medical management, there was
aggressive progression of moorens ulcer, BCVA HM PL PR+
