Abstract
Purpose:-To assess the general knowledge of and attitude to various common eye conditions in children among paediatricians in a city in south India.
Design:- Questionnaire based non-interventional descriptive cross-sectional study.
Methods:- Sample size was based on results of Sathiamohanraj et al. It was determined that a sample of 87 needed to study knowledge, attitude and Practices amongst Paediatricians. Quetionnaire was administered through Google forms and analysis was done using statistical software STATA version 14.
Results:- Majority of Paediatricians did not participate in conferences on Children's eye conditions. Participants had satisfactory knowledge about the common presentations and their underlying causes.
Conclusion:- Although the knowledge and attitude related to eye diseases among Paediatricians were more than satisfactory, the degree of collaboration with ophthalmologists was limited. Workshops should be held by ophthalmologists for Paediatricians.
