FP0541 : Precision toric – novel, AI based, indigenous, cost effective toric guidance system – follow upstudy

Abstract

Purpose – to validate the results of Precision Toric guidance system (PTGS) for toric IOL positioning guidance.
Method – Prospective observational study, 30 eyes planned for phaco with toric IOL with corneal astigmatism >1D were included. Outside OR, patient's eye was manually marked at a random location on limbus. Baseline photograph was taken through Precision toric mobile app and transmitted to base computer. PTGS software on PC analyses this and identifies landmarks. Baseline data is input viz. toric IOL axis and incision axis. Software then provides real time augmented reality video guidance which is used to position the main incision as well as toric IOL. Toric IOL location is confirmed immediately post op on slit lamp.
Results – Mean toric IOL misalignment was 2.3 +/- 1.3 degrees postoperatively. Mean residual cylinder was -.39 +/- .29 D. Mean UCVA was 6/9.No complications noted
Conclusion – PTGS provides reliable, cost effective, hardware agnostic alternative to other systems.
