FP0512 : COMPARITIVE ANALYSIS OF IRIS CLAW LENS IMPLANTATION WITH AND WITHOUT PERIPHERAL IRIDOTOMY

Abstract

study design -retrospective study
pupose- To evaluate surgical and visual outcomes and complication profile with retropupillary iris claw lens implantation(RPCL) in intraoperative surgical aphakia The study will also assess the potential for RIOP following surgery ,as well as the necessity of performing a laser peripheral iridectomy to normalize IOP later.
methods-We conducted a prospective analysis of aphakic eyes that underwent RPCL in complicated cataract surgery from January 2018-2023.Those cases that didn’t undergo a peripheral iridotomy was grouped into group 1 whereas other eyes that had undergone PI was grouped into group 2. The chances of postoperative transient iritis, IOP rise, need for secondary laser iridectomy, laser hyaloidotomy, re-surgery for lens tilt/disenclavation, re-surgery for vitreous in anterior chamber and the other complication profile and visual outcome were compared between the two groups.
